Bristlepile Fabrics for Paper Transport and Motion Control
Components made of BRISTLEPILE fabric control the movement of materials as they are transported through office equipment. Available in nylon or polypropylene monofilament fibers, these components have the physical resilience and chemical resistance properties needed to withstand severe operating environments.
Characteristics
- Durability: Fiber materials offer excellent abrasion resistance.
- Chemical Resistance: Resistance to ozone attack in harsh copier environments.
- Temperature Resistance: Fabric combinations are resistant to moderate temperatures, 170°F (70°C).
- Flexible: Backings include synthetic latex for flexibility and solid polypropylene for rigidity.
- Non-Abrasive: Won't scratch most high-gloss surfaces.
- Angle Definition: Nominal 45°.
Applications
- Paper Transport: When BRISTLEPILE fibers are oriented perpendicular to the fabric base, the resulting fiber friction assists paper movement in copiers, duplicators and printers.
- Clutch Action: BRISTLEPILE fabric, either by itself or wound around a metal core, acts as a one-way clutch when surrounded by a wire-mesh wrap.
