Seals that determine finished window and door performance

Windows and doors account for a significant share of a building’s heat loss, and the quality of the weatherseal directly determines how well a unit performs. Schlegel’s Q-LON composite gaskets, brush pile and extruded seals deliver air tightness, moisture resistance, acoustic reduction and long-term durability across window frames. Seals regularly remain effective for 25 to 30 years, often outlasting the glazed unit they protect.

A comprehensive range for every frame material and application

New build residential, industrial and commercial construction, and repair, maintenance and improvement (RM&I) demand quality sealing solutions. Schlegel manufactures Q-LON weatherseals specifically engineered for PVC-U, aluminium and timber window and door systems. Q-LON’s polyurethane foam core returns to its original shape after sustained compression, even in extreme cold or heat. The brush pile range provides a low-friction, flexible seal against moving sashes and sliding doors.

Supplying fabricators, system houses and distributors at volume

Schlegel supplies window and door systems houses, OEM fabricators and installers across all frame material types globally, supporting high-volume manufacturing operations. A strong distributor network also provides Q-LON, brush pile and extruded seals from stock for fabricators, installers and homeowners requiring smaller quantities. Whether orders run to full production runs or individual replacements, Schlegel’s supply infrastructure supports both.

Supporting the drive toward zero-carbon buildings

Windows and doors are among the most important building components for reducing CO2 emissions. The UK’s Future Homes Standard is designed to ensure new homes are zero-carbon ready, while the EU’s Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) sets a pathway to a fully decarbonised building stock by 2050. High-performance weatherseals are a direct and cost-effective contribution to meeting these targets by improving the thermal and air tightness performance of every installed unit.
