Shutters and partitions demand seals that perform reliably against moving elements, uneven surfaces and repeated cycling. Schlegel’s Q-LON foam profiles are engineered for exactly these conditions, covering aluminium, PVC, timber and steel frames to EN 12365-1 2003. Beyond shutters and partitions, Q-LON composite gaskets are also proven across sectors including construction, transport and HVAC.
Q-LON gaskets for shutter and partition applications are available in a wide range of colours via the weather-resistant embossed polyethylene outer liner. They include brown, white, black, silver, beige, light oak and further colours available on request.
The table below details Schlegel's shutter and partition sealing profiles by product name, mounting method, frame material and primary performance characteristic. Use it alongside the EN 12365 six-digit classification system to confirm the correct specification for your application.

Long-term compression set recovery to 90% of original shape.
Low friction liners suitable for sliding door applications
Minimal stretch during installation for minimal creep back over time
Unrivalled thermal performance (0.04 W/mk at 0.ºC) to help with energy savings
Leading sound reduction from extensive testing for outstanding acoustic performance
The outer film is not altered by paints, detergents and colourants
Q-LON polyurethane foam profiles suit hinged, folding and compression-close partition systems where an airtight, thermally efficient seal is required at the closed position. The polyethylene outer film resists paints, detergents and dyes, so decorative maintenance of the surrounding frame does not compromise seal performance.
Fire-retardant variants of Q-LON polyurethane foam profiles classified to EN 13501-1 Class E are available for partition assemblies in buildings where fire compartmentalisation is a regulatory requirement.
As well as shutters and partitions, Q-LON composite gaskets are also proven across a wide range of sectors and applications, from airtight, fire-rated sealing for insulated wall panels and glazed partition systems, to window and door sealing in buses, trains, yachts and construction vehicles, as well as reducing conditioned air loss, dampening mechanical vibration and protecting outdoor HVAC units from water infiltration and UV degradation.

Yes, Q-LON products are guaranteed for 10 years to provide customers with complete peace of mind.
Yes. All Schlegel weatherseals for shutters and partitions are classified under EN 12365-1 2003 using a six-digit system that covers working range, compression force, temperature range, deflection recovery and recovery after ageing.
Yes. Q-LON Fire Retardant profiles are classified to EN 13501-1 Class E. They are designed to slow flame spread and prevent the dispersion of flammable material, making them suitable for fire-compartment partition and shutter assemblies in regulated buildings.
Schlegel shutter and partition seals are manufactured to suit aluminium, uPVC, timber and steel frames and specific groove dimensions.
