Aquamac and Q-LON are the same Schlegel polyurethane foam weatherseal. Q-LON is Schlegel’s high-performance gasket, made from a special polyurethane foam core with a weather-resistant embossed polyethylene liner. The Aquamac name was the original product designation. Q-LON is its direct successor and the name used across all current Schlegel product codes.
Aquamac was originally developed for timber window and door applications. As PVC-U window and door systems became widespread in the UK during the 1990s, Schlegel further developed the product for those applications and renamed it Q-LON. Q-LON is now available for timber, aluminium and uPVC windows and doorsmaking the Aquamac name a legacy designation.

The performance record of Schlegel Q-LON has led to a market of inferior copies. These imitation products frequently use names that sound like Aquamac or Q-LON, and profiles that look similar, but cannot match the material specification or durability of the genuine article.
