Q-LON polyurethane foam seals for aluminium casements and sliding doors
Q-LON is a polyurethane foam core wrapped in a weather-resistant polyethylene liner. For aluminium applications, Schlegel produces dedicated profiles for casement windows, entry doors, sliding door systems and window coverings. The low compression force required to close the sash means aluminium hardware experiences less operational stress over the product’s service life.
EN 12365:2003 compliance and CE marking support
All Schlegel seals for aluminium windows and doors are designed to comply with EN 12365:2003, the European standard for gasket and weatherstripping performance in fenestration. Schlegel’s testing facilities in Hamburg are accredited by ift Rosenheim. Products support fabricators in meeting EN 14351-1:2016 CE marking requirements for air permeability, water tightness and durability.

Schlegel supplies three purpose-built tools to support professional Q-LON fitting. The Q-LON Mitre Cutter produces clean, accurate corner cuts. The Q-LON Insertion Roller seats the seal uniformly into its groove. The Q-LON Overlap Insertion Roller handles overlap joints where two seal lengths meet.
