Black brush strip seal with dense bristles

What are extruded brush pile seals?

Extruded brush pile seals combine a rigid carrier profile with flexible polypropylene pile fibres that move independently to seal against moving elements and uneven surfaces. Used across fenestration, window covering and interior applications, they deliver reliable draught, dust and water exclusion for the service life of the frame.

Colour options for extruded brush pile seals

Standard pile colours are grey and black while non-standard colours, available subject to minimum order quantities, include white, brown and beige. Contact our team for lead times and minimum order requirements on non-standard colours.

Key Benefits

Independent pile fibres seal against uneven surfaces

Each fibre moves separately, maintaining contact across irregular or moving frame surfaces.

Low friction for smooth sliding window and door operation

Silicone-treated PP yarn reduces surface drag when sliding

Mould, mildew and water resistance built into the yarn

PP pile treated with silicone repels moisture and resists biological growth over time.

UV stable and chemically inert for long service life

Polypropylene construction resists UV degradation and chemical exposure without deterioration.

Optional fins reduce air infiltration

Central or lateral fins on Fin-Seal and Shutter-Pile products deliver measurably tighter air sealing.

Compatible with aluminium, PVC and timber frames

Backing widths of 4.8 mm, 6.7 mm and 6.9 mm cover the kerf dimensions used across all three main frame materials.

The extruded brush pile range: profiles for every application

Schlegel’s extruded brush pile range includes seven specialist profiles for sliding and sealing applications. Power-Pile, Fin-Pile, G3, G3-QF Quadrafin and Bi-Fin deliver enhanced weather sealing, while Angle-Pile suits insect screens.
